2 Day Accredited Course
Our 2 Day Qualification Course is a theory and practical based course that will cover the basics, bridal makeup and heavy glam. As well as teaching you the makeup skills you need to take on clients, we will also have small group discussions on starting out as an MUA and your goals. We aim to teach you the necessary practical skills as well as preparing you for running a small business and being self employed. We believe a goal is just a dream without a plan that's why we want to work with you to have a roadmap to success ready to start your business. You will also receive an AHM work pack full of industry related information and AHM top tips to read and work through. This course is fully accredited through The Beauty Guild. This means you will leave after 2 days a fully qualified MUA. You will be able to purchase the correct insurance and apply for professional discounts using your certificate. This is a fast track alternative to college courses and is suitable for anyone aged 16+.
5 Day Accredited Course
A more in depth accredited course covering the basics, bridal makeup, heavy glam, Instagram glam and SFX training. Each day of the course has a dedicated topic and is taught at a slower pace than the 2 day course. We focus on Instagram glam as we believe being creative makes you stand out from the crowd. In addition, SFX training is equally important and is always popular around Halloween. During this course we will go into more detail on other topics that we feel are essential to running a makeup business, such as social media training and branding. You will have to complete both theory and practical assessments to gain your makeup qualification with The Beauty Guild. After 5 days of training you will leave a qualified MUA ready to start working in industry and taking on your own clients.
What is included?
Upon completion you will receive a Makeup Artist Qualification which will allow you to purchase the correct insurance and apply to trade discounts. Online theory assessments for both courses will need to be completed before your practical start date with us. Each student will receive an AHM Work pack, a product list for each look created and ongoing support even after the course is finished. Both our 2 day and 5 day courses are group courses meaning you will be learning alongside other aspiring MUA's
Will I need to bring anything with me?
All makeup products and brushes will be provided for your training. We recommend that you bring a notepad and pen to your lessons so that you can take notes and write down key information. You must have completed your theory assessments before your practical begins. All practical assessments will take place on a model, you can bring your own model or we can provide you with an AHM Model at an extra charge of £50 a day. Our AHM Models are used to modelling for photos and are happy to sit still and quietly whilst you work.
When can I book my lesson for?
There will be dedicated dates for our 2 Day and 5 Day Courses every other month. These courses are run on weekdays only, with a start time of 10am. Please call or email to find out the next available dates.
Can I purchase a Course Kit?
With all Accredited Courses we offer Makeup Starter Kits at an additional cost of £100. Your course kit will include at least £180 worth of products that we use in the shop ourselves. Included will be a full brush set, makeup bag, eyeshadow palette and various other products. Previous course kits have included brands such as Doll Beauty, Morphe, NYX, MAC, Peaches & Cream, Rimmel and Maybelline.
The contents of our course kits will vary month to month depending on the trade discount deals at the time.
How much is this course?
2 Day Qualification Course - £500 ( or £600 with kit included). £100 deposit needed to book your place on the course.
5 Day Qualification Course - £1000 (or £1100 with kit included). £250 deposit needed to book your place on the course.
